  • Upon registration, you will receive access to the PADI Open Water Diver Touch for self-study prior to the next lesson. It will take approximately 6 to 8 hours over one week for the self-study.
  • You will have to complete all 5 knowledge reviews using the PADI Open Water Diver Touch prior to the lesson.
  • During the session, the instructors will go through the completed knowledge reviews and evaluate any mistakes or areas where divers are uncertain or weak at. Upon complete understanding of the uncertainties, students are required to sit through a quiz followed by a final exam to ensure 100% mastery and how and when to apply the knowledge learnt.

Skills Development Session

  • The Skills Development Sessions will take place at the Nongsa Resort Pool, Batam. During the sessions, fundamental skills of scuba diving that are required to keep a diver safe will be taught. Divers will also be introduced to all diving equipment needed during the course.
  • Even though the fees include all gear needed for the duration of the course, it is advisable that divers invest in their personal mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit prior to the confined water session. Reason being is that students adapt faster using their own personal gear as they will feel more comfortable and relaxed during the training. In addition, their next dive will require little or no adjustment to the equipment because they are already accustomed to their gear.

Open Water Evaluation

  • This is the most important and exciting part of the course. After all the knowledge and skills development and students showing competency in them, the open water training serves as an evaluation that student divers are able to take care of themselves and their buddy when they complete the course.
  • Student divers will be evaluated based on all the skills that they have been taught during their confined water training and development.

10 reviews for PADI Open Water Diver Course

  1. 5 out of 5

The crew & instructors were great, friendly and gave me lots of details about the dives before I made them. We collected our essential reading 2 days before the dive to make sure we didn't have to read on the boat. My girlfriend got her book in Chinese (as she is Chinese) so we were both equally informed going into the water. The journey was easy and just 30min ferry from Singapore. We did our pool session upon arrival and sail out to Nikoi after dinner on the boat. We did 8 dives in total which is value for money.

  2. 5 out of 5

Our instructor Felix was friendly, experienced and thorough. We spent 3 days getting our PADI Open Water Diver qualification, two of those days in the ocean at dive sites of the surrounding islands. Food on board was really great, highly recommend this Course

  3. 5 out of 5

I found DiveSingapore on Google and chose them because of the great reviews. They definitely lived up to those standards! My instructor was Felix and he was absolutely great! I felt very comfortable with him and he made everything seem easy, he made sure that I was ok and that I was doing the skills the correct way! I would definitely recommend him to anyone doing their open water course!

  4. 5 out of 5

What made our first open water dive experience, was our instructor Gary. He is the nicest guy and made everything very comfortable and easy going.

  5. 5 out of 5

My friend and I completed our PADI Open Water certification with Felix at GS and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. First off, communications in order to schedule and book the trip was super easy. They are very responsive and were able to answer all of my questions. They arranged all of our pickup and drop off transportation.

  6. 5 out of 5

My friends and I recently did our 3 day PADI open water diving course with GS Diving, and loved it. We chose GS because they had a competitive price, as well as super friendly instructors and people. Felix was our instructor was fantastic. He was really thorough, making sure we understood the risks inherent in diving, and that we'd be safe. He's a great diver, and a great instructor, and we were very happy we got to learn from him.
